Still here

Yes, I’m still around and have not forgotten. There are several reasons for not posting recently. The least of which is lack of time.

I actually have been very busy with both work and freelance work. But I’ve also been spending a lot of time with God. The past few months I’ve seen my relationship with God grow tenfold and for the first time in several years there is a new sense of purpose and drive in every area of my life. This has caused me to reflect on my priorities”where, what and how I spend my time. What are my goals? Do I even have goals? What is my 5 year plan and how does this correlate with my lifelong plan?

“Consider it a great joy, my brothers, whenever you experience various trials, 1:3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. 1:4 But endurance must do its complete work, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing.”
(James 1:2-4 HCSB)

The past 14 months have been a beautiful, albeit painful, learning experience with my career, personal and spiritual life. But I rejoice in this because recently God moved in a mighty way in my life and I can now look back and see the purpose of the trials. Stretching and growing in Christ.

“Know then in your heart that, as a man disciplines his son, the LORD your God disciplines you.”
(Deuteronomy 8:5 ESVS)

It is for discipline that you have to endure. God is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline? If you are left without discipline, in which all have participated, then you are illegitimate children and not sons. Besides this, we have had earthly fathers who disciplined us and we respected them. Shall we not much more be subject to the Father of spirits and live? For they disciplined us for a short time as it seemed best to them, but he disciplines us for our good, that we may share his holiness. For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.”
(Hebrews 12:6-11 ESVS)

I’m extremely excited about what the future holds. What about you?
