The other day at work I was listening to the Stand to Reason podcast1 and the guest was Mike Licona. Mike, a New Testament scholar and apologist, discussed “The Historical Probablility of the Resurrection” which was fascinating to listen to. You may remember Mike from the Case for Christ DVD with Lee Strobel, an atheistic journalist who set out on a three year assault to disprove Christianity only to find himself a believer after studying the evidence. Mike focuses on three main facts that are nearly 100% accepted by the majority of scholarship including the skeptics.
- Jesus’s death by crucifixion.
- His disciples were convinced they had experienced Jesus after his death and resurrection
- The skeptic Paul was converted to Christianity after his own experience with Jesus.
